Hanover High School Athletics Update 2/22/24

The 2023-2024 school year has witnessed a continued high level of success for high school student-athletes. Teams have competed for state championships and earned league titles, while individuals have been recognized for both athletic and academic achievements.

In the fall, both girls’ soccer and football competed in their respective state finals. Neither resulted in a state title, but not for a lack of effort or support from our community. Many of our student-athletes were recognized for tremendous seasons either by the Patriot League or local media publications. It was surely another fall season to remember!

The winter season is still ongoing, with MIAA team tournament information being announced this weekend. For sports with individual championship events, the winter has been historic. This past weekend, three of our student-athletes earned incredible individual accomplishments demonstrated by their recognition as MIAA Divisional State Champions.  Congratulations to Natalie Mutschler – MIAA Division 4 Indoor Track Champion (55m Hurdles), Anthony Mann – MIAA Division 3 Wrestling Champion, and Emma Leonido – MIAA Division 3 Girls Wrestling Champion.

To keep informed about other notable performances as well as upcoming event details, please consider following HHS Athletics at one of the departmental social media accounts listed below.  Much of the same information on these social media accounts can also be referenced on the Hanover High School Athletics website.

Each varsity hockey and basketball teams qualified for the MIAA Tournament. Winter team tournament seedings and brackets will be released this Saturday and at least two of our winter teams are expected to host tournament games.  I hope you will consider attending in support of our hardworking student-athletes.

Your continued support of Hanover High School Athletics is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Scott Hutchison, Athletic Director
